For raptors, for example, look under the name of individual species (thus, for Eagle, look under E not R for raptor.)
Similarly, for Bronzewing, look under B (not P for pigeon).
For Cotton Pygmy-Goose look under P.
Ducks that have "duck" as a separate word after the descriptive part of their name are under D ( e.g. Blue-billed Duck is under D): the rest are alphabetized normally: e.g. Hardhead under H, Teal under T). Shelduck, where duck is part of the word, is under S.
