WHEN ON FIELD TRIPS While safety and welfare are the responsibility of each participant the following are suggested….
The next Sunday Outing on 17th May is to Kaiserstuhl Conservation Park. We'll meet at the entrance at 9.30 am. Here are the directions, describing two different routes. First Route: Travel north from Adelaide to the Barossa Valley. After Lyndoch and Rowland Flat, turn right on Bethany Road (just before Tanunda) or turn right on Basedow Road (in Tanunda). In each case, go to the end of the road and turn left on Light Pass Road. Turn right on Menglers Hill Road and proceed past the Lookout at the top of the Hill and down the other side. Turn right on Tanunda Creek Road and travel about 4 km to the entrance of Kaiserstuhl Conservation Park, on the right. (If you see Pohlner Road on your left, you've gone a little too far.) Second Route: Travel to Birdwood, Mount Pleasant, Springton and Eden Valley (in the direction of Angaston). About 3 km after Eden Valley, turn left on Flaxmans Valley Road. At a T-junction, turn right (remaining on Flaxmans Valley Road). After 1 km, turn left on Tanunda Creek Road. After about 1 km, soon after you pass Pohlner Road on the right, look for the entrance of Kaiserstuhl Conservation Park, on the left. You may also wish to visit the sites below and report back to the club on your sightings.
